BIOGRAPHY
Degree in Geology (2006-2011, Universidad Complutense de Madrid).
Master Degree in Geophysics (2011-2012, Universidad de Barcelona).
From 2012, PhD student in Earth Sciences at Universidad de Barcelona. These studies are being carried out at Barcelona-CSI.
Main objectives of my PhD thesis are: (1) the study of the formation processes of the Gibraltar Arc system, (2) the stratigraphical and structural characterization of the Alboran basin from reflection seismic data, and (3) possible implications for earthquakes and tsunami hazard. The study is based in multichannel reflection seismic data, especially those acquiring during the TOPOMED-GASSIS cruise in the Alborán Sea, but also bathymetric data, high resolution and wide angle seismic data, drills and earthquakes records. Processing and interpretation of multichannel seismic data are the most important part of my thesis.
I have participated in different geophysics cruises (ZEE-11, TOPOMED-GASBATS, NORCARIBE, SHAKE), collaborating in the acquisition tasks and in the quality control of geophysics data (bathymetric, gravimetric, magnetic, sub-bottom profiler and especially multichannel seismic reflection data), and processing data on-board (mainly multichannel reflection data).
In order to complete my training, I performed a short stay in a foreigner center (OGS, Trieste, Italy), learning new processing techniques, and attended courses (e.g., Kingdom Suite software, Remote Operated Vehicles operation) and national and international conferences.
